Port Forwading

There are a couple of things you can do to make this work and by doing so will make your Network connection better in the process:
1. When forwarding ports, make sure u specify the PC that the port forwarding corresponds to. (Very Important. In fact I did this wrong by putting in the router's IP instead of the PC's.  If you are using DHCP it may not work because your IP can change everytime you power down your PC.)
2. Set your PC to a static IP address - Give your PC an IP like 192.168.0.2. You also must specify the DNS server info. U can get this info by going to a command prompt: Start/run/CMD enter. Type IPCONFIG /ALL  Your DNS information will be displayed. Go here if u need instructions on setting up IP in XP:  http://ns1.nt.net/test1/files/How%20to%20Configure%20Static%20IP%20in%20xp.pdf

It says u only have to specify UDP packets, but I did both just in case.  I forwarded these ports:
First, the directplay ports:
6073
2302 to 2400
Gamespy Ports:
6667 (IRC)
80 (HTTP)
27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
28900 (Master Server List Request)
29900 (GP Connection Manager)
29901 (GP Search Manager)
13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
3783 (Voice Chat Port)
6515 (Dplay UDP)
6500 (Query Port)

Thats it guys good luck.
